If you are building fo the web right now, you should pay the minimal attention to UI. Your main goal for web based applicatino is to make it easier for AI to navigate and do its work.

I would stick with bare minimum CSS if at all and stick with built-in html components. No fancy CSS frameworks. No fancy JavaScript frameworks.

Bareminimum UI that AI can use. We are not in transitional period of Web UI. I recommend not wasting too much time polishing it; your work will be thrown out soon.

What's the best way to leverage AI right now?

You need to ponder, try, recalibrate at all times.

There are too much 'You can just do things' or 'I one-shotted this and that' or 'I built this site using AI' blah blah. Block out all the noises. Keep reading and learning about what's behind AI and keep pondering, trying, and recalibrating to make it fit to your use cases.

Current State of AI

The hype cycle around Artificial Intelligence has been a whirlwind. From sky-high expectations to doomsday prophecies, it's hard to cut through the noise and understand what AI truly means for your business today. At Saram Consulting, we're immersed in this evolving landscape daily, and here's our grounded perspective on the current state of AI:

Saram Consulting's Reality Check on AI:

  • The Future is Still Being Written: While AI's progress is remarkable, we're still in the early chapters of its story. True Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) – AI that can truly mimic human cognitive abilities across the board – remains a distant goal.
  • Human Ingenuity Remains Untouched (for now): Despite impressive feats, current AI models haven't demonstrated genuine, novel creativity. They excel at pattern recognition, synthesis, and even generating plausible new content based on vast datasets, but the spark of truly original thought remains uniquely human. So, for those peddling AI doom-and-gloom, the prophecy of human obsolescence is, thankfully, far from materializing.
  • Immediate, Tangible Value Exists Now: Don't let the distant future distract from the present. AI is already incredibly powerful at specific, well-defined tasks. From automating mundane workflows to enhancing data analysis and personalizing customer interactions, there are immediate, verifiable opportunities for businesses of any size to gain a competitive edge.
  • The "Free Lunch" is Ending: The initial phase of heavily subsidized AI model usage is winding down. AI companies, and "AI wrapper" services (like Perplexity AI or Cursor) that build user-friendly interfaces around core models, are shifting their pricing. Expect to see more nuanced, often higher, pricing models or a move towards "Bring Your Own Token" (BYOT) models where you directly manage your API consumption with the underlying AI providers. This means cost-efficiency will become a more critical consideration.

What Does This Mean for Your Company Right Now?

This nuanced reality presents both challenges and unparalleled opportunities:

  • The Optimal Time is NOW: Despite the evolving cost structures, there has never been a better, or more accessible, time to strategically integrate AI into your business operations. The tools are mature enough to deliver real value, and the early adopter advantage is still very much in play.
  • It's Not Too Late to Start: If you haven't yet embarked on your AI journey, don't despair. The rapid pace of development means that even if you're behind, you can quickly catch up by focusing on targeted, high-impact implementations.
  • Expert Navigation is Key: With the landscape constantly shifting and costs becoming a factor, haphazard AI adoption won't cut it. You need a partner who can expertly navigate the complexities of current AI capabilities, identify the most impactful use cases for your specific business, and, critically, demonstrate tangible and verifiable outcomes that justify your investment.

The Rise of the "AI Automation Engineer"

We're seeing a brilliant trend emerging among forward-thinking companies: the creation of a dedicated "AI Automation Engineer" role. These individuals are not just technical experts; they are strategic problem-solvers responsible for:

  • Deeply understanding core business processes.
  • Identifying specific areas where current AI capabilities can introduce significant efficiencies or create new value.
  • Designing, implementing, and monitoring AI-powered automations.

This dedicated focus is a testament to the immense, untapped potential of AI within existing business structures.
